Turkey → Japan · recalibrated product/category scoring

Score the wedge, not the fantasy.

A category can be attractive and still be a bad first move. This scorecard separates commercial promise from execution friction, then ranks what Ef and Kuanysh should actually test first.

Rule: start priority is not market size. It is the probability of generating a credible first RFQ loop this month: demand/fit + execution ease − regulatory/liability gate penalties.

New scoring logic

Demand / fit measures Ef fit, Japan demand, story/margin, and repeatability. Execution ease measures regulation and freight/sampleability. Start priority combines both and subtracts penalties for licensing, child safety, food import, electronics, medical, dual-use, and other gate risks.

Best first tests: non-electrical home décor, scarves/simple accessories, home textiles, and decorative ceramics. Food and children’s apparel remain Ef-fit opportunities, but only become first if Ef has real reachable contacts and a Japan importer/compliance path.
